Nelson Marsh began painting in 2012, and his art has allowed him to overcome many obstacles. He is in a wheelchair and legally blind after sustaining three strokes. While in therapy, he struggled to express his feelings by journaling. His therapist encouraged him to paint his feelings if he couldn't write them, and the idea stuck! Nelson paints on canvas, ceramic tiles, glassware, wood, and even a guitar, and says his art is highly therapeutic for him.
